Hi,
I know what you mean. I did the exact same thing last summer. Just wanted to shift a few pounds as I was a little shaky on my weight. I just started off by keeping an eye on my calories, setting my self a limit not to go over every day, keeping an eye on the fat content. Soon it got out of hand and I was scared to eat anything with over 100 calories in. As it was summer I was eating slightly less than usual anyway. But with the strictness of the calorie counting I shrunk my stomach. I would eat something small, such as a bowl of cereal, or a bag of crisps all day (7am-10pm). My friends and family commented on my drastic weight loss, as I ended up loosing a stone in about 3-4 weeks. I told them I had it under control and knew what I was doing. Only looking back, I now realise that I was on the verge of anorexia. I’m a size 6 now, but my clothes that fit me now were really baggy on me last summer. I could see every one of my ribs, and my collar bones were really defined and stuck out my skin. Please don’t go on a proper diet like I did, as it could of threatened my life.

heey!:) – i had the same problem, i\\\’m 14 and all my friends started so long ago, and my family started really young aaswell. i always felt left out, and i thought it was never going to happen. but then one day it just did i was 14. i thought it was never going to happen. but now it has, it\\\’s not that great. feel good that you haven\\\’t got one. cos it\\\’s nice being free.

Dear Katie,
i’m that kind of person who have very limited guy friends. i have one who calls me “granny”, its a joke, one who used to be my friend and then got angry at me, and one that ive known since 6th grade. the last one is the one that my friend convinced me that i like him, and now i do. but he has a girlfriend. i met her and she’s really nice. i think he’s just trying to get my attention, because he always pokes me in the back in 2nd block and other things that i came down to saying he was flirting with me. i need help, i can’t talk to my friends because they’ll make me blush because they’ll say “ahhhh! lily loves him!”. is he trying to get my attention with having a girlfriend? or am i jumping to conclusions? and if a guy likes a girl, does he get their attention with having a girlfriend because they know that they like him? because he said that i should just admit it that i like him. please help!

Don\’t worry- you\’re completely normal. Since you\’re older, expect it soon- but it depends on the person. Don\’t worry now. If by 17 you still don\’t have it, go see a doctor.
I know nothing I can say will dissuade you from wanting it, I was in your shoes once. But please trust me when I say- enjoy your time without it. You may feel left out, but half the girls with it are so jealous of you. No one wants to make you feel left out. Ask your friends for advice so you won\’t feel left out and you will be more prepared when the awful day comes. Getting your period can be scary- dont worry. It\’ll be over soon.

I am going to tutn 14 in 2 months. I have public hair and armpit hair i have started to get pimples but i have a complete flat chest. My mom got her period when she was 14! hey mikayela, i wrote the article on top, about the guy that doesn’t notice me, well i did what Katie said which would have worked but turns out the guy was too arrogant to even notice me, so now im just like whatever and move on. Maybe it’s not the best advice, i mean if i would have heard this when i was crushing on the guy i probably would have ignored it. But the truth is if that the guy isn’t looking at you even when you bump into him, he’s too much of a jerk or to caught up in himself to notice you and is losing the chance to meet you (which sucks for him).

Dear Katie,

I really like this guy at this public pool that i go to almost every summer.

He went out with my cousin, because my other cousin told him to, but the he broke up with her for me.

I really like him but my cousins hate him. I live in a different town from him, and we have tried to go out 3 times but it didnt work out.I feel him slipping away but i still like him and i can’t look at him knowing whats going on.

Plushe says he likes me and says he’ll prove it.
And unless ignoring me and then saying lets go out then ignoring me again is proving it, he is doin a terrible job!!!!

I\’m 14 years old, i\’ve had my period for almost 2 years, and yet I\’m very flat chested. kayso there’s this guy, and he’s so sweet and he likes me also, but he has a girlfriend. He’s told all my friends that once him and his girlfriend break up he’s going to ask me out but in the process of all this my best friend started liking him as well. My best friend is really outgoing and doesn’t care if she flirts with a guy that has a girlfriend, but I feel differently and I don’t like it, I’ve tried to but I felt very bad after wards.
