Hi Katie,
I’m 14 and I’m overweight but my friends say I have a nice face. I like this boy and he’s my friend, but I don’t know for sure if he likes me.

Dear Shelly,
All guys have different taste in women. Just because you are not a size two doesn’t mean guys wont like you. Some guys like girls who have curvier bodies. There are basically two catagories of guys out there, and some guys fall somewhere inbetween these two extreames.
One type of guy is more superficial and is into a girl’s looks. He doesn’t care how nice she is or if she is funny…he only cares about her physical appearance and if she looks good on his arm.
Then there are guys who prefer a girl with a great personality no matter how her body or physical appearance is. These guys will chose a girl who’s persnaliy they like over another girl who might be skinny but isn’t very kind.
Have confidence in your qualities that you do like, such as your facial features and your personality. Maybe your guy friend is the second type of guy who can look past your body and see you.

hi katie,
I’m new here and there is this guy I like but he’s also my friend. At frist it seemed like he liked me butthan he sort of swicthed to this other girl that he had known forever and he’s pulling away from me. Do you think I did something wrong? Should we just stay friends?

It sounds like this guy is into another girl now so you may just wanna stay friends at the moment. He may have liked you in the beginning, but you somehow fell into the friend zone which is far from the relationship zone. So here are some ways of avoiding his friend zone in the future:
Make sure you are challenging him. Guys like a challenge and a girl who is not challenging is just a friend. Challenge him intellectually, emotionally, and/or physically. Choose which ever way would stimulate his interest the most. You will remain in the friend zone if you’re not challenging him.
Also, don\’t do everything he asks or give him everything he wants. This gives the sign that you are a push over. Show him you have confidence to turn him down once in a while and say \"no\" and that you are not too willing to please him.
Observe if he is flirting back with you or not when you are flirting with him. If he is not showing strong enough signs that he likes you back, then it may be hard to get out of the friend zone. If he gets into a relationship with this other girl, than you may need to refrain from flirting until he is single again. But if he stays single, then keep your flirtatiousness but don\’t make any big move unless you are at least 90% sure that he likes you as more than a friend. Otherwise it often turns into a disaster if you make a move and he is NOT really into you. Good luck!
