Should I Go Out With A Guy That My Best Friend Dated?

Hi Katie,
There is this guy I really like. He’s not kinda the type that you would think I would like. I’m afraid to ask him out, because my best friend went out with him, and still isn’t over there break-up.
And I can’t wait because school’s almost out and he might not come back after the summers over. What should I do?

Dear Krista,
It wouldn’t be right for you to date him right now since your friend isn’t over him. You can always ask her if she would be OK with it if you REALLY want to date him. But chances are she is going to tell you she would rather you not. Respect your best friend by not going after this guy.
It would be better for your friendship if you didn’t date her exboyfriend. If he doesn’t come back after summer is over, look at it as a good thing and that it is for the best.
